Alright, a last minute distraction surfaced. Instead of enrolling in the Computer Science Ph.D. program at Georgia Tech come August, I am staying here in Austin. After some soul-searching (blah, blah, blah), I decided to stay and work at frog. Ribbit.

small heroes: the niece, the nephew and the dog

Been a way for a little while, I apologize. I have been busy working with frog on the website redesign of national wireless provider. It's been crazy and stressful and pretty darn interesting. Whatever the case, I got a free (if brief) trip to the west coast. Not much more I can say about that.

My friend Nelan and I got to talking the other day about the differences between using the graffiti language and a keyboard on a palm device. He prefers graffiti but acknowledged that some people might be wary (particularly those new to the handheld scene). He was able to find some interesting studies out of the University of Maryland on user preferences and task completion using both methods: study 1, study 2, study 3. Enjoy.

I am not a palm (or any other handheld device) user, so I don't have much to say about these studies. Plus, it's late and I don't have my critical hat on. Though I will say I miss conducting ANOVA and t-tests.

I know, I am a loser. I accepted it long ago. And now I am going to bed. Good night.
